The Tuareg, a semi-nomadic people of the Sahara, are renowned for their masterful silverwork. Silver, believed to bring protection and strength, was worn as a symbol of status and spirit, unlike gold, which was thought to bring misfortune. Salim has roots in Arabic and African cultures, often meaning “peaceful” and “safe”.
