A luminous Biwa freshwater pearl is encased by hand in golden Alchemia and set upon an adjustable band. Biwa pearls take their name from Japan’s Lake Biwa, where freshwater pearl cultivation was pioneered in the 1930s. Formed without a traditional bead nucleus, layers of nacre develop into beautifully irregular shapes, making every pearl entirely one of a kind.
