This process involves 7 different metal and Gold depositing layers to achieve the final product which yields in a test 18K to 22K gold (18K gold is 75% Gold). GL has more gold than your standard "14K Gold Filled" pieces. We reference ""Gold-Filled"" in the description only because the end result of durability and quality surpasses the American industry standard of 14K Gold-filled pieces but not many clients have heard of "Gold Layered". Suggested Wear: to prolong the luster of your Gold-Layered jewelry be careful of hard water exposure, chemicals in shampoos, ocean salt water, chlorine in pools, heavy metals from sweat. 18K GL jewelry should last you years, but we do suggest maintaining attentive care practices.
