The Uma Ring, in 18k Polished Gold Vermeil, entwines the energy of the divine feminine around the wearer’s finger. Its rich golden hue, dappled with the texture of scales, is offset beautifully by two eyes of glistening Black Sapphire. The crown jewel of this piece is a marquise cut Sapphire of deepest midnight blue: a visual representation of the Goddess in her heavenly form set atop her earthly manifestation. 

Throughout time the Holy Sapphire in all of its celestial hues has been associated with the Sacred. A stone of wisdom and royalty, of prophecy and divine favour. Sapphires of heavenly blue signified the height of celestial hope and faith and were believed to bestow protection, good fortune, and spiritual insight. Ranging from deepest twilight to almost black depending on the light, each sapphire is as beautiful and unique as the individual wearer.

About this Metal

Pronounced "vehr-may" a thick layer of gold plating is deposited onto a solid sterling silver base. To be legally called "vermeil," the gold layer needs to be at least 2.5 microns thick. This is a great option for people with sensitive skin. It is not as strong as Gold Filled but still a great option. Suggested Wear: to prolong the luster and plating of your Vermeil jewelry be careful of hard water exposure, chemicals in shampoos, ocean salt water, chlorine in pools, heavy metals from sweat. Because Vermeil is plated we do suggest occasional wear and to store in a dry area.
